COMPANY HISTORY
Pioneering spirit and the impulse for new challenges are the pillars of our company development. It all started in 1877 when the printer and bookbinder Albert Willeke founded the company.
Twenty years later the company began to produce paper bags and packaging paper under Hermann Willeke. The constant expansion and modernisation of the operation boosted the daily production capacity to more than 2 million bags and sacks as early as the 1950s.
In 1961 Gerhard Schuerholz Sr. took over the management of the company. In 1988 he entrusted his sons Heinz-Albert and Gerhard Schuerholz Jr. with the responsibility of running the firm.
Today we have the responsibility for the living conditions of future generations. Bridging the gab between ecology and economy in a responsible manner requires far-reaching (and extensive) experience. At GSD we understand this demand. That is why we exclusively use raw materials and inks that are both environmentally tested as well as economically sensible. The base material for our products is the reproductive material wood.
